thermal strip hacks
anyone else using a thermal strip to keep track of the feed while they're not looking? i think i've already got it tuned pretty well. i've got it set up to keep track of specific tags and themes etc. and on the printed hits it adds the coordinates, seed value and a visual code that then help me find it in the possibility space... but i'm still wondering if theres room for improvement.. any suggestions?

i've found that setting up the tagging correctly makes the most difference and is most impactful.. u shouldnt rush through that setup.. how are you handling that?

you could also have it update the tags according to your various changing preferences.. did you try that out?

yeah i know but wouldnt that end up being just like a raw, unedited driftfeed with extra steps? i dont really want to control it too much in that sense because i dont really know what i'm looking for.. or maybe i do to some extent, i mean i always know it when i see it but i dont think i could really put it into words or tags... and also i generally just want to be surprised...

well yes its a kind of delicate balance of guiding it and leaving it to do its own thing i guess... but i've been using some auto-updated tagging scripts and they worked great.. you just need to tweak them a bit so that they dont become overbearing.

when you then try to recover that captured artifact from the possibilty space, are you actually able to find it? ..i've rarely been able to really recover anything remotely similar to the capture when i later check out those coordinates.. so i sort of stopped using thermal strips entirely.. but maybe i'm doing something wrong?

yeah the possibility space does seem to shift a lot so you really have to be quick i guess... but i've mostly been able to recover at least a trace of them and was then able to explore around that space a bit... that's usually how i find most of the good ones.. are you using the seed and the code as well tho? the coordinates can only get you so far i think..

hmm.. did you calibrate the reader? it needs to be in constant sync with the feed..
